Building Regs
Building Regulations approval is needed for most alterations.
The Regulations cover structural integrity, fire performance, sound and thermal insulation, drainage, access etc.
Approval is granted in two stages:
- Approval of plans prior to construction
- Inspection of works on site
Building control must be notified at key points in the construction so that they can inspect.
